About/CV

Javiera da Fonseca Ilić is a chilean artist mainly focused on drawing and painting. Her work is an ongoing exploration on color realms, composition, energy, vortices and the subtle divine veil of our relation and sense of oneness with nature.

By using brilliant chroma and going beyond the perceived forms, she generates landscapes and scenes suspended in time, inviting the observer to connect with their own memories- dreams, being a catalyst to evocation.

Her aesthetic, philosophical and spiritual quest through art rises when she moved to Mexico in 2015. The culture, the colors, the environment, the medicine and wisdom of ancient civilizations influenced her. Javiera latest exploration it’s being on the abstract language where she invites intuition, present mindset, meditation, movement, music and emotional catharsis to create paintings that zoom into plants, body, cells, but at the same time manifests landscapes from above, observations of the earth and space.

Javiera da Fonseca Ilić began her art education at Universidad de Chile (2000-2005) where she graduated in Visual Arts with a specialization in painting. Javiera further her studies of art appreciation under Eugenio Dittborn (2008, 2009). Her work has been exhibited in galleries, art fairs and auctions in her native Chile, Mexico, United States and Canada. Many of them by the hand of Monica Reyes Gallery (Vancouver). Javiera currently lives and works in Mexico.
